Unreasonably Proud of Myself This Week: The Small Victories Edition

jellycatjamie β€” Jun 5, 2026, 04:43 PM
Not the big stuff. Not the promotion or the finished project or the milestone. The SMALL stuff. The "I put the laundry away on the same day I washed it" stuff. The "I replied to a text within 24 hours" stuff. The stuff that other people might not understand is an achievement but WE understand. This week: I folded the laundry WHILE it was still warm from the dryer. Not three days later. Immediately. I don't know who I am anymore. What's your tiny win?

i made a phone call WITHOUT rehearsing the conversation first. just picked up the phone and dialed and talked like a normal person. i don't know where this power came from but i'm scared of it.

brushed my teeth AND flossed in the same session. not one, then the other an hour later. back to back. i'm basically a dental hygiene superhero now.

I opened my mail. The scary pile. The one that's been sitting on my desk for two weeks. It was 80% grocery store flyers and one credit card offer. The dread was so much worse than the actual mail. But I did it.

Also I showered AND washed my hair on the same day. If you know, you know.

i ate vegetables. deliberately. not because they were already in something. i made a salad. WHO AM I.

I went to the grocery store, remembered everything on my list, and did not have a meltdown in the dairy aisle. The lights were mercifully dim. The hum was manageable. I consider this a cosmic gift.

i sent a text message that i'd been avoiding for five days. it took 30 seconds. the person responded "no worries!" immediately. i spent five days in agony over a 30-second interaction. but it's done and i'm free.

i changed my sheets. not just the pillowcase, not just the fitted sheet. the WHOLE thing. fitted sheet, flat sheet, pillowcases, the decorative pillow i hate but keep for some reason. fresh sheet night is the best night.

I left the house. Not for an appointment or an obligation β€” just because I wanted to. I walked to the corner store and bought a Gatorade and walked back. 15 minutes total. But it was voluntary and I didn't feel scared and that's a really big deal for me right now.

okay everyone in this thread is absolutely CRUSHING it and i'm so proud of all of you. warm laundry, voluntary Gatorade trips, vegetable consumption, conquered mail piles. this is the good stuff. this is what winning looks like.

i remembered to water my plants BEFORE they started drooping. not after. BEFORE. they haven't been watered in... a while. but they're still alive and now they're hydrated and i feel like a responsible plant parent.

i took my meds at the right time two days in a row. that's it. that's the achievement. but it's a BIG one for me and i'm counting it.

i put my shoes on the shoe rack instead of kicking them off in the middle of the floor. it's a tiny thing but i've been trying to build this habit for months and this week it finally stuck. small victory, big deal.
