The Secret Backstories of Our Stuffed Animals (Yes, Yours Has One Too)
Okay I want to know everyone's stuffie lore. Not just the name β the BACKSTORY. Where did they come from? What's their personality? Do they have a nemesis?
I'll go first: My dragon Pickles was actually a secret agent in a previous life but retired after a harrowing mission involving a lost pacifier and a very tall bookshelf. Now he just naps and judges my life choices. Your turn!

Mochi the weighted sloth is actually a retired librarian who got tired of shushing people. Now he just holds my chest down during panic attacks and whispers "it's okay, take your time." He has a tiny pair of glasses that I made out of pipe cleaners and they are absolutely ridiculous.
my rock doesn't have a name because rocks are too dignified for names. but if it DID have a name it would be gerald. gerald the rock. he's been through a lot.
Barnaby the dragon was found abandoned in a TJ Maxx clearance bin during a thunderstorm. I wasn't even looking for a dragon. I was looking for a bath mat. But he looked so sad and bedraggled in there with all the discounted candles. He's been my ride-or-die for three years now. His wing is frayed because he fought off a nightmare once. True story.
Jeremiah the frog is a Build-A-Bear who runs a small but successful diner in my imagination. Specializes in flies-on-toast and swamp-water lemonade. He wears a jean jacket because he's the cool uncle. My daughter gave him the boots.
I have a stuffed Highland cow named Mabel and her backstory is that she was a regular cow who wandered into a magical meadow and came out with extra fluff. She's very soft. She doesn't speak but she understands everything.
@wigglypebblepatch917 "she doesn't speak but she understands everything" is the most accurate description of a comfort stuffie i've ever heard. mabel gets it.
my comfort item isn't a stuffie it's a blanket named frank. frank has seen things. frank has been through the washing machine approximately 400 times. frank is pilled to oblivion and i love him.
@drowsysnailcove382 FRANK. a blanket named frank has made my entire day. please tell frank i said hello.
omg these backstories are amazing. my stuffed penguin waddles doesn't have a dramatic origin story but he did survive being left at a rest stop in nebraska for three hours before we turned around to get him. he's been permanently grumpy ever since and i respect it.
my comfort item is a very squished pillow named geraldine. she's been flattened into basically a pancake over the years but she's MY pancake. she doesn't judge my sleep schedule.
i have a little stuffed hedgehog named mr. pricklepot and his backstory is that he was a brave knight in a past life but got turned into a hedgehog by a cranky wizard. he's very dignified about the whole thing.
