My Current Mood in Color: A Temperature Check, Crayola Edition
Not a personality test. Not a "what color are you" quiz. Just... right now, in this moment, what color does your mood feel like?
Mine is a sort of dusty lavender. Not bright purple, not grey β somewhere in between. It's 6pm on a Tuesday. I'm wearing socks. I've done enough. The lavender feels appropriate.

A soft butter yellow. The yellow of a kitchen in the morning when nobody else is awake yet. It's a peaceful color. A color that hasn't been yelled at yet.
that specific blue-green of the ocean when you're standing on the shore and the water is clear enough to see the sand underneath. calm but with movement underneath.
the color of a traffic cone. bright orange. aggressive. not necessarily in a bad way. just... present. i am HERE. i am ORANGE. deal with it.
Forest green. The color of moss on a log in a quiet woods. I'm tired but in a grounded way. Not bad-tired. Just... deeply existing. Like I could photosynthesize if I sat still long enough.
the color of a fresh piece of construction paper right out of the pack. specifically the light blue one. uncreased. full of potential. a little intimidating but in a good way.
hot pink. i'm not even feeling hot pink energy. i'm feeling very beige actually. but i'm trying to MANIFEST hot pink energy. fake it til you make it.
The color of a foggy morning. Grey-white. Not sad-grey, just... soft grey. The kind of grey that makes the edges of things less sharp. I'm feeling like I need the edges of things to be less sharp right now.
@ghostedmyself "the kind of grey that makes the edges of things less sharp" is an absolutely perfect description. i hope your edges soften soon.
the color of a very specific crayon i had as a kid called "macaroni and cheese." it was not orange and not yellow. it was the color of comfort. that's my mood. macaroni and cheese crayon.
the pale green of a new leaf in spring. i'm trying to grow. i'm not there yet. but i'm pushing through the dirt and the light is getting closer. it feels fragile and hopeful.
navy blue. like the sky right before it turns fully dark. not quite night, not quite day. in between things. that's where i am right now. in between things.
